our process

Design shouldn’t feel like a curated exhibit where you’re afraid to touch the furniture. At Clifton David, our end game is to create an extension of your identity. We lean on the clean lines of the Bauhaus movement and the warmth of Mid-Century Modernism to build spaces that are sophisticated yet deeply personal. We don’t just design rooms; we craft the backdrop for your life.

conversation is key

Our process begins with getting to know you—your likes and dislikes, your hopes, and most importantly, your intentions for the space. We take time for conversation because the more we understand you, the more thoughtfully we can make design decisions that truly fit your life.

Dialogue is central to how we work. These early conversations help us build a well-rounded picture of who you are and how you want your space to feel and function.

what's the "score"?

Music also plays a meaningful role in our process. At Clifton David, we believe every person and every space carries a certain energy—its own rhythm and mood. Early on, we look for a musical “score” that captures the spirit of both you and the space we’re creating together. When we find it, we share it with you to see if it resonates.

collection and curation

As the design takes shape, we begin sourcing furniture and objects that feel aligned with the mood, rhythm, and intention of the space. Each piece is considered not just for how it looks, but for how it supports the way you live. We share these discoveries with you along the way, engaging in open dialogue and refinement, so the final collection feels thoughtful, personal, and naturally connected to the overall narrative of your home.

Between open conversation and this shared sense of atmosphere, we’re able to design spaces that feel personal, intuitive, and connected—spaces that reflect your story in a way that feels natural and lived-in.
